WIP: Warhound Titan scratchbuild Part Three

Hi guys,

Making more progress on the Beast. One leg and pelvis is now 90% finished, still some imperial bling to add. Second leg is almost done, just lacking the rivets on one leg joint, because suddenly i've used all my rivets.

More to come in the next 10 days :)

"Crisis" suits again.

They are giving me real crisis. At least I feel how do pain an alcoholick sergeant space marine, or a druggo dark eldar... but theeese...

take 3: ww2 russian uniform green as the main theme (yes i do play world of tanks at times, next on the silly idea plan - german grey)

Tau XV8 Crisis Suit mockery

Well, honestly i had higher expectations and hopes for it. But on the scale of craptasticeness of gluing process... crisis suit foot to leg joints come 3rd place on my list, right after any dark eldar  infantry model with 2 handed gun, and eldar wraithguard hand - palm joints.

My hands cant bear the base -> paint -> glue process with this model... so the next batch is going to be glued right off the bat, then based and painted... screw lost details.

Starting tau as a weaboo grimdark comunists vietcong style... Crisis suits were to be painted green.
But as my only green experience are a few shiny dark angels a year back, and i never painted any historicall / tank green model - this was my first time trying to imitate green colored metal piece of machinery.

Came out below average as i used too many washes and too little layers of paint to give distinctive colors.

So any friendly advice about painting green metal machinery is very welcome.

Stuff to do till next time:

- come up with lightning effects (undecided on plasma/melta color to use yet... )
- try different wash / layer options on the other 2 suits... choose the best suit as the commander :D
- finish the squad and get to work on some other unfinished models...

Options for other models are:
- squad of dire avengers to match the serpent form previous posts,
- dark eldar squad in light colors which is half done
- newly ebayed tau infantry.

Oh yeah more pictures of glue heresy below the cut...

Wave Serpent - finished !

What a long strange trip it has been for this craft. Starting out based white for future tinting and being a generally light and even toxic colored it ended up being dark and menacing. This was a very good project to get the brush back in the grubby mitts and stop being a couch potato.

Attention grabbing picture

WIP Wave Serpent

Hello fellow dojo goers, and lurking by-passers. This week was full of surprises and action. One of them was finally getting the brush in my hand, and kick starting painting again (more like butt kicking self into painting).

I did not manage to achieve much, and its still early work in progress. But taking into account that the model was primed white during the autumn of last year, its finally taking shape.

When i started my dark /light eldar force, i imagined painting them in skull bone, rust and bronze colors, never took vehicles into account. But time went by, I tried a few color schemes on them, and my current force is painted scarcely, in different styles and colors ranging from skull bone, to communist red and traditional blue and green.

Going from there my decision was, f.. it. Just finding a pleasing image of a finished wave serpent for reference and go from the colors there.

ps. feel free to punch me for the crap photos.

White primer (shit job there, quite a lot of paint right from the start)
